The nutritional value of silkworm pupae differs depending on place of origin and season, but it tends to contain high amounts of lipids and protein. Dried silkworm is 23-26 % lipid and 55-59 % protein. Care should be taken not to use oxidized, poor quality silk worm as this can result in Sekoke disease.
